Technical assistance and supervision for installation of equipment and integration of navigation monitoring system on the Danube River
Project „Technical assistance and supervision for installation of equipment and integration of navigation monitoring system on the Danube River“ (TA & Supervision) is one of three contracts within the “AtoNs” project in the Republic of Serbia, the other two Contracts being:
Service Contract “Integration of Navigation Monitoring System on the Danube River”, awarded to the Consortium of Safege (France), RSOE (Hungary) and Safege d.o.o. (Serbia;
Supply contract “Supply and installation of equipment for navigation monitoring system on the Danube River”, awarded to the Consortium of Sealite Ltd. (United Kingdom), Kentron Technologies S.R.L. (Romania) and Navitronica d.o.o (Serbia).
The goal of the TA & Supervision contract was to contribute to the increase of capacity and safety of environmentally sound and sustainable inland waterway transport on the Danube river (part of TEN-T Rhine-Danube core network corridor). The project implementation started on July 1st, 2016 and was successfully finalized by May 31st, 2019. RGO Communications Ltd. implemented this project in consortium with KIOS a.s. from Slovakia through three project phases:
Project Preparation – preparation of the tender dossiers for the Supply and the System Integration tendering procedures,
Procurement – support to the Contracting Authority, Final Beneficiary, End Recipient and evaluation committee during the tendering procedures for the Supply and the System Integration tendering procedures,
Implementation – supervision of both Supply and System Integraion Contracts, from their beginning to their finalization.
Lock Management System
RGO Communications Ltd., commissioned by via donau –
Österreichische Wasserstraßen-Gesellschaft mbH, is developing and implementing
the national Lock Management System (LMS) – an integrated IT solution for
managing and monitoring lock operations along the nine Austrian Danube locks.
The project covers all stages of software development – from
requirements specification and system concept, through user interface
prototyping, implementation, installation, testing and multi-year maintenance
and technical support.
LMS enables complete digital management of lock operations,
including vessel passage recording, automated lock cycle planning, real-time
lock chamber visualization, shift and incident management, as well as reporting
and data exchange with related river information systems (DoRIS, CEERIS, EuRIS,
EHDB).
The system integrates advanced functionalities such as
automatic lock scheduling, failure and notification management, user and access
administration, and data synchronization through internal and external APIs.
This project represents a significant milestone in the
digital transformation of inland waterway traffic management, enhancing safety,
interoperability, and operational efficiency within the European River
Information Services (RIS) framework.
